Jeffrey Goodman
President
Jeffrey S. Goodman, MD, FACP,FACC, FHRS has been president of CARES since 2006. He is an attending cardiologist with the Division of Cardiology Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a member of the Electrophysiology Center of Excellence there. Dr. Goodman is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Goodman is a board certified Cardiologist and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist whose primary clinical and research interests involve the diagnosis and treatment of various cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular arrhythmias, and ventricular arrhythmias. Dr. Goodman is a specialist in cardiac ablation procedures, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation as well as implantation of biventricular devices. He also has interests in cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac death prevention and congestive heart failure.
Dr. Goodman is a member professional organizations, including the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and the Heart Rhythm Society.
He has been a recipient of several honors and awards including those from of the Heart Saver Award, awarded by the Save-A-Heart Foundation, the Laverna Titus American Heart Association Cardiology Research Award, the Solomon’s Scholar Award for Excellence in Research and the Saul Fox Award for Medical Research. Dr. Goodman has written book chapters as well as published many articles for such peer-reviewed publications as the American Journal of Cardiology and PACE. He is a frequent invited guest lecturer in both in the US and abroad.
Dr. Goodman received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland Honor's Program, and his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.. He completed his internal medicine internship, internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship and electrophysiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He currently practices in Los Angeles.
As President of Cares, it is my goal to ensure that state of the art teaching in Cardiology and Heart Rhythm management can be provided not only in urban US areas but will be spread around the world via the teaching and experience that CARES provides its mentees. We have been honored to have trained over a dozen physicians from around the world who have taken this knowledge back to their countries to implement and provide a better and healthier quality of life to their population.
